Calibrated stone

Calibrated paving means that the slabs have been cut down to a consistent thickness, so they are quicker and easier to lay and you do not need to keep adjusting your mortar bed to achieve a level patio surface. As Indian sandstone paving is a softer, less dense material than other natural stone, a thicker dimensional paving size of 22mm is the most common size used in the UK market. Indian sandstone paving is a durable material that has been used for many years in the UK and is less prone to thermal expansion/contraction cracks than concrete. Kandla Grey paving is hard wearing with slight variations in grey colouring and patterning, which means each paving stone is unique. The riven surface provides excellent slip resistance and is ideal for creating a patio where a more traditional or rustic style is desired. Sandstone is porous, therefore is not impervious to spills and weathering. However, your stone can be protected using Ceetect Aqua, our water-based sealant, that will also minimise the impact on the colour and natural appearance of your sandstone paving. Kandla Grey Riven Paving is one of the most popular products used for the garden in the UK because of its traditional colours, durability and price
